What is The Hour of Code?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Hour of Code<\/a> started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code”, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When is The Hour of Code? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

December 8-14, 2025<\/strong>. The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week<\/a>. You can host an Hour of Code all year round, but every year millions of students around the world celebrate together in December. CSed week is held annually in recognition of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper’s birthday on December 9, 1906.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
