Now is the time to celebrate! Break out the laptops, mechanical keyboards, iPads, or even pencils &#8211; whatever you\u2019re coding with for <strong>these free Hour of Code activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Computer Science Education Week?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csedweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Computer Science Education Week<\/a> (CSEdWeek) is an annual call to action to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Hour of Code?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/hourofcode.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hour of Code<\/a> started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify &#8220;code&#8221;, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. This grassroots campaign is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For organizations that are dedicated to coding and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.codewizardshq.com\/stem-meaning\/\">STEM education<\/a>, this week is a time for us to introduce more kids to coding in a simple and fun way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the best ways to participate is through <a href=\"https:\/\/hourofcode.com\/br\/en\/how-to\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hour of Code<\/a>. Spend one hour this week coding and see if coding is right for you. If you\u2019re a teacher, organize an Hour of Code for your class. You can start with the activities below or get creative and create your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We\u2019ve compiled some of our favorite free games and Hour of Code activities here for you.<\/strong> We have over 25+ Hour of Code activities, games, and tutorials for kids and teens of all ages. It\u2019s never too late or too early to learn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.codewizardshq.com\/computer-science-classes-for-kids\/\">computer science<\/a> and we encourage every child to try.
